Dear FolkWorks Reader,
We
are writing this to let you know that this is the last print edition of the
FolkWorks newspaper. For the foreseeable future FolkWorks will continue as an online
e-zine. The FolkWorks website ( www.FolkWorks.org
) has been entirely redesigned. We have gotten a lot of positive comments
already and hope that you will enjoy it too. We anticipate that most of the
current columnists that you have looked forward to, will continue to write for
the new FolkWorks. We will continue to enhance the site with additional
interesting content over time. And,
of course, we will continue to have the calendar you have grown to depend upon.
In that area, too, we are exploring ways to make it more useful for your folk
explorations.
We
are also developing new benefits for members. We are working on a cool design
for a bumper sticker and we will mail that off to all of you as soon as it is
completed.
Your
membership makes you eligible for FolkWorks
Free Passes to concerts, Festivals, etc. In the past few weeks we have
given away over 12 pair of tickets to Topanga Fiddle Banjo Festival, Claremont
Folk Festival and the Long Beach Bayou Festival. We are talking to various
venues that have supported us over the past years to explore new ways of promoting
their activities as well as provide benefits to our supporting members.
In
the meantime, we will update you via the web and the FolkWorks Yahoo Group.
Your
ongoing support has been, and will continue to be, important to us. and will
ensure FolkWorks future growth in this new direction
Please
email us with your thoughts, questions, feedback...
Thank
you for your continued support
